A historical novel about the extraordinary life of John Law, best known for his role in introducing paper money in France and promoting the Mississippi Company. The subsequent price inflation and bubble in Mississippi Company shares are well known a classic case of financial mania, comparable to the Dutch tulip mania and the South Sea Bubble in England.
