Description

This comprehensive set of two CD-ROMs provides the complete, as-it-happened story of Operation Iraqi Freedom - documented and recorded in real-time by the American military.

Launched by President George W. Bush in late March 2003 and finished within weeks, the Second Gulf War saw American and British forces liberate the nation of Iraq and topple its brutal dictator, Saddam Hussein.

Every aspect of the war is thoroughly covered, with material from each branch of the armed services - Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard.

Disc One begins with a listing of the fallen warriors of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Thorough coverage of material from U.S. Central Command (Centcom) tracks every phase of the conflict.

A unique "time capsule" of web snapshots from the Department of Defense DefendAmerica site spans the period from January 23 through May 3, including daily coverage at the height of the war. White House and State Department material is also included.

Thousands of color photos are contained in Acrobat PDF photo galleries from each service, and many of those images are also provided in their native computer formats on Disc Two. There are over 3100 image files (primarily in the popular JPG format) on Disc Two, along with a great collection of about 50 video movie clips (in MPG, WMV, and AVI formats). There is a full reproduction of the leaflets dropped on Iraq and the "deck of 55 cards" representing Iraqi leadership targets sought at the end of the war.

Together, the two discs contain nearly one and half gigabytes of material!

In all, the set has nearly 23,000 pages reproduced using Adobe Acrobat PDF software - allowing direct viewing on Windows and Apple Macintosh systems. Reader software is included on the CD. There is no other reference that is as fast, convenient, comprehensive, and portable.

Our CD-ROMs are designed to provide a convenient user-friendly reference work, utilizing the benefits of the Acrobat format to uniformly present thousands of pages that can be rapidly reviewed or printed without untold hours of tedious searching and downloading. Vast archives of important public domain government information that might otherwise remain inaccessible are available for instant review no matter where you are. This book-on-a-disc set makes a great reference work and educational tool for anyone interested in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
