Modern Method for Cello, Vol 1

To learn to play a string instrument, the student must become well grounded in the necessary fundamentals of bow technique, and in the function of the left hand. These problems are presented gradually throughout this book, always with special attention to the basic principle of the method: the physiologically natural movements of the fingers, hands, and arms when applied to the instrument. This book introduces a simple method of instruction for the violoncello student which will carry that student, in a logical sequence, through the different phases of technical and musical understanding of violoncello playing.
