Unproofed: Our Words and Images

In his youth, raised with great love, care, and faith in God as well as steel by parents who moved from the mountains of Virginia to southeastern Pennsylvania, Elliott searched for freedom from the circumscribed circles of his life the basis of the memories, both humorous and heartwrenching, in his book, Unproofed. It is only later as a reflecting adult after meeting people with lives quite different than his own that he began to experience these interconnecting circles of family, friends, church, and God not as a source of confinement, but as a basis for liberation.
