Famed Hollywood actress Veronica Ryan arrives at a red carpet event with her wife Shawn, then a shot rings out and Shawn is dead. FBI profiler Kennedy Scott is called in to investigate. And Kennedy has her own problems, haunted by a string of child murders no-one can solve.
