In a word, it is aimed at "stablishing" you concerning "the mystery" and the details of your sonship life in Christ (Rom 16:25).Vol. IV - Up & AwayBy the time you reach the Thessalonian epistles you have already been presented with the bulk of the doctrinal information composing your education. It was constructed of two major parts or levels, with the issues of Romans 8 serving as a pivot point and bridge to the curriculum. The Thessalonians are mature "ensample" saints. These epistles presuppose that you have gone through the full doctrinal portion of the curriculum for your edification. They are designed to accomplish some particular things in your "stablishment" in light of your previous education. They are not aimed at beginners or meant to in any way introduce you to doctrine. Rather, they are designed to address some particular issues in light of what you already "know perfectly." The object and goal will be to direct your attention to the end of "the mystery" and "stablishing" your inner man so that you are "comforted" and not "troubled" by the tactics of the enemy concerning the "day of the Lord" and the timing of our rapture/resurrection "gathering."
