Locker Room Legacies

Paul writes in I Corinthians 1:27, 'But God hath chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.' It might certainly have seemed foolish for Great Bend High School to offer an assistant coaching position to a lawyer who had been outside of organized basketball for over twenty years, and equally foolish for him to accept. However, this opportunity would open the door for author Charles Pike to earn an advanced degree in sport. Lessons learned as a player, coach, and parent would be crystallized by the inspiration of high school players, coaches, parents, and fans. In tear-filled locker rooms at seasons bitter end, off-season preparations, and packed arenas after state championships, the author has been blessed to record those events through words and rhyme in Locker Room Legacies.
