Description ▲
Lily Pond Village is a summertime adventure for the Arrington twins, visiting their grandmother with their mother, Katherine, for their vacation. While the twins, Daisy and Dylan, are playing by the fish pond in Grandmother’s backyard, the tadpoles of Lily Pond Village are spending the last day of school getting ready for their vacation around the backyard pond they call home. The lovely big pond is full of goldfish, tadpoles and frogs. Lily Pond Village was built by the frogs, in the style of an old English village. The frogs were brought to America from England on a ship transporting a barrel of goldfish. Grandmother bought the goldfish along with the tadpoles for her pond. The tadpoles were English tadpoles; they only knew how to build English villages to live in. So they built their little thatched-roof cottages of reeds and mud and stone, just as they had in the old country. So began the adventure of Lily Pond Village.
