Shades of Darkness

Shades of Darkness is an anthology of twenty-four horror stories from the mind that summoned Humansville. A young, unhappy couple is followed home by a brood of malevolent creatures after witnessing the death of their mother in the urban horror of “Occupational Hazard.” Two college friends, now living as fractured, awkward adults, must deal with a hellish flood that fills their east St. Louis apartment in “Where the Water Comes From.” An alcoholic languishes in the nightmarish world of uncertainty and fear that precedes his final demise in “Death’s Other Kingdom.” An overworked college senior awakes in a Kafkaesque nightmare in “Match Head.” With each tale containing its own singular voice and unique brand of terror, Shades of Darkness delivers short, impacting horror that is sure to stab into the mind of the reader and cleave wounds not soon to heal until a new, stronger dose of dread is administered.
