Mokolo: From Africa, A Young Man's Response to God's Call is the story of a young Congolese man who discovers that choosing to serve God is never an easy decision. Unlike most of the other boys in his village, Mokolo wants to go to school. He wants to learn to read and write and be able to work to support his family. This is just the first of many challenges that he faces in a struggle to find the right path for his life. Along the way, he must make important, life-altering choices that determine the kind of man he will be and the kind of life he will lead. Above all, Mokolo hopes to serve God with his life, but in order to do so he must overcome the opposition of his family and the weakness of his own faith. Inspired by his own experience in Africa, author Howard Nelson accurately depicts the culture and lifestyle of those in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
