The mujahedeen had also burned our library and were outside burning our books in a small fire on the road. They kept yelling, 'These books are for the infidels and not for Muslims!' Shei had come over to where we were standing and asked me what we were going to do. I tried to be strong for both of us, but I was unable to. I tried to hold back my tears, but I couldn't. As I reached over to Shei to give him a hug, I told him we would be okay and we would learn at a new school. I knew this wasn't going to be possible, but I had to give Shei some type of encouragement.
