Description

Young people are an important and growing part of the Nepalese population and are becoming more and more significant in terms of their impact on both the national and international levels. In 2010, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in conjunction with other ministries, created the first National Youth Policy in Nepal that would focus exclusively on youth, and through this policy, recognize their specific needs and circumstances. This publication examines the consequences, both of the new National Youth Policy, and of other policies that address youth issues, against the backdrop of Nepal's recent history of conflict and current socio-political transition.
