Description

The Holy Spirit and Tongues: Benefits and Misuse is written in response to the controversies surrounding the subject of speaking in tongues. It stays within the confines of the scriptures to give a balance and neutrality to the excesses of those who are for or against spiritual gifts, and particularly the gift of tongues. The book begins by looking at the meaning of the terms "Gift" and "Manifestation." A careful exegesis is done with regard to the time, condition, and occasion when the gifts should last. A recurring pattern of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is also established. The Holy Spirit and Tongues: Benefits and Misuse highlights the purpose of tongues, the divine and human factors in its use, differentiating the gift of tongues from the ministry of tongues, and the sign of tongues. The book also discusses the power, effect and relevance of this spiritual gift, as well as its benefits in the present day church. It concludes with the word of exhortation that the gifts are God's testimony to His Word. Emil Elorm Clad is the senior pastor of Christ Tower of Grace, an apostolic ministry committed to discipleship. It is located in Accra, Ghana. He completed a certificate course in biblical study at the Torchbearer Bible School in Bodenseehof, Germany, and holds a diploma in biblical studies and theology from the Victorious End Time Training Institute in Accra. He has travelled widely in West Africa, Europe and the United States, and is married to Erica, also a pastor. They have three daughters and a son. This is his third book.
