We drowned in poverty when the communist government took over Vietnam with no hope of escape. My father's last wish before he died was to support my family, and I soon found out that my wages in Vietnam would never be enough to keep us alive. My only choice was to escape to where money grew on trees: America. In Fargo, North Dakota, where there was more snow than air to breath, I realized my dream wouldn't be so easy.
