What in Heaven Is Going on at Church?

Have you ever wondered how other churches "do church?" I wanted to find out for myself. Disguised as a "secret church shopper," I attended services in 115 churches representing 28 denominations. I experienced everything from simple gospel presentations to "there's no business like show business" extravaganzas. I learned "what's hot" and "what's not." I was appalled by what some churches presented from the pulpit, and I enthusiastically applauded others for their strong biblical preaching! This adventure exposed some of my preconceived, inaccurate concepts and redirected my ministry outlook. I have been humbled, and ultimately have fallen more deeply in love with Jesus and His church.
