Description

A retired electrical engineer explores his interest in spiritual growth and long-term personal and global evolution in I Believe: A Rosicrucian Looks at Christianity and Spirituality by William Bezanson. For many years reluctant to disclose his doubts about conventional religion, Bezanson spent thirty years studying and examining the fundamentals of the Church's teachings; as well, he examined his own spirituality, spending time in meditation and careful thought. He became a member of the Rosicrucian Order. He concluded that spirituality is more important than religion. One of his major efforts was the rewording of the Nicene Creed, which begins, "I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth . . ." This is the central statement of belief for the Church, and Bezanson's version has a spiritual rather than an orthodox focus. The author encourages us to embark on our own spiritual explorations.
