Asia-Pacific Security: A Changing Role for the United States

This report considers how six U.S. allies or partners in the Asia-Pacific region see their security interests and future threats, how they are addressing them, and what role this leaves for the United States in the region. It concludes that they may have to get used to the United States being a very important actor, but not always the first port of call for providing security.
