New Orleans 1815 (Trade Editions)

The war which broke out in 1812 was supposedly caused by British impressment of American seamen from American ships but it is probably truer to say that there was almost a sub-conscious desire to complete the separation begun by the War of Independence. For the British, New Orleans was an unfortunate sideshow; for the Americans, it was the one major, unequivocal land victory of the War of 1812.
