Design of Foundation Systems: Principles and Practices, Third Edition

This textbook, first published in 1992, and now appearing in its third edition, retains the best featres from the earlier editions and adds significantly to the contents, which include developments in the nineties. The chapter of Soil-Structure Interaction has undergone a major revision incorporating additional text, which includes the author's own experiences from practice in the field making it an up-to-date source of reference and study on this subject. Key features include: design plates as per revision of the IS Code (2000) on reinforced concrete design; and a CD containing software (in 12,000 lines) for the geotechnical design of shallow foundations, deep foundations and retaining structures, which takes away the tedium of manual effort involving several cycles of iteration in each case.
