India, an Emerging High-Tech Giant: But does she have feet of clay? (Anthem Press India)

India is often described as a knowledge-based economy in the making, due to its high economic growth and the role played by knowledge-intensive sectors such as Information Technology in spurring and maintaining this high-growth performance. There is also a strong feeling, particularly in the West, that India is becoming very innovative. This book analyses the empirical evidence on India's growth in innovation since the reform process of 1991. It will also identify two specific constraints to maintaining the country’s performance in this area.
