i-read Year 1 CD-ROM

The stories, poems and non-fiction in i-read Key Stage 1 have been written to develop children's reading skills by building word-, sentence- and text-level work onto their enjoyment of a high-quality text. Objectives match the renewed Primary Framework including the need to read texts on screen. Each CD-ROM provides a mix of high quality poetry, fiction and non-fiction whole texts from top children's authors including Martin Waddell, Debjani Chatterjee, Val Bloom and Tony Bradman. Multimedia enhancements enrich the reading experience - children can click to see a slideshow, watch a video of the author, or listen to some atmospheric music. Each CD-ROM contains nine themes which can be easily integrated into your existing schemes of work. The accompanying anthologies can be used for guided group reading or homework to consolidate skills learnt in the whole class session.
