Description

Derry, Ireland, 1689. The city's inhabitants are blockaded by King James's men. The Sherrard family are among those divided on whether to risk the lives of their remaining loved ones or to beg the church leaders to surrender. Mr Sherrard starts to waver, angering his oldest son, Robert, who instigated the closing of the city gates. Meanwhile Daniel, the youngest, loves both his brother and father, and doesn't want to choose sides. Eventually the city is saved from starvation and the siege ends. The Sherrard brothers celebrate the freeing of their city. But what now for these boys, haunted by their experiences?
