In Geneva, living by an idyllic lake, Alix seems to have a perfect life: a wonderful teenage daughter; a lovely house; a surprisingly agreeable ex-husband; and, newest of all, a great love in the form of David Moller, a successful, charismatic banker. After all, as he tells her, his marriage to the unseen Katherine is merely a marriage of convenience. But soon life becomes more complicated than Alix could ever have imagined, with death touching her life, and strangers, good or bad, turning her life upside down.
