Spike Milligan: A Celebration

This tribute to Spike Milligan looks back over his career using scripts from his television and radio shows as well as excerpts from his books and poems. Each excerpt is introduced by those entertainers who know him well, such as Eric Sykes and Harry Secombe, or those who have been influenced by his comedy style, such as John Cleese and Paul Merton. They give their views on what has made Spike a comic talent in Britain for so long, and pay tribute to his ability as a clown, actor, writer and broadcaster. The book is illustrated with photographs, cartoons and doodles. At the 1994 British Comedy Awards, Spike Milligan was given a "Lifetime Achievement" award.
