Rope Techniques in Mountaineering

The pace of development of mountaineering techniques has continued at an ever increasing rate. The work of the UIAA has added considerably to the knowledge of belaying and there have been many improvements in materials and design of mountaineering equipment. This book is not a comprehensive instructional manual which would run into many hundreds of pages to cover all aspects of modern techniques. It is rather a handbook for the experienced climber who wishes to broaden his knowledge of techniques, in particular those associated with improvised rescue.
