The Karazan Quartet is a fantasy adventure series for readers aged 8-14, with fast-paced narrative and situations which actively engage the reader's imagination and - occasionally - problem-solving skills. All four volumes are narrated in the first person by Adam Equinox, who has already been introduced in The Serpents of Arakesh and Beyond the Shroud. In Prince of the Wind, things are changing for Adam. Always tall for his age, his wrists and ankles are sprouting from the frayed cuffs of his orphanage hand-me-downs; his voice has developed an alarming tendency to croak at the worst possible moment; and his patience with the restrictions of the orphanage is wearing thin. And then, the unthinkable happens. Someone wants to adopt him. Not Q, but the enigmatic Veronica Usherwood, Marketing Manager to Quest Incorporated. With her dark hair and olive skin, she could easily be Adam's birth mother, but there's something about Usherwood that doesn't quite add up...And then, once again, Adam finds himself propelled into Karazan.
