The Power of Place: Landscape in New Zealand Children's Fiction

This work presents an examination of the influence of New Zealand's history and terrain on its children's literature. The author argues that the dangerous characteristics of the New Zealand landscape have provided writers with scope to explore, experiment, and develop a unique and internationally recognised New Zealand voice.
