Environmental Contaminants and Terrestrial Vertebrates: Effects on Populations, Communities, and Ecosystems (Setac Special Publications Series)

This book is the product of a symposium held in 1998. The 50 participants who attended this symposium represented federal and state agencies, private corporations, and several universities.

The intent of this book, as with the symposium, is to see more clearly a complex and sometimes frustrating aspect of environmental research, namely, the responses of groups of individuals, species assemblages, and combinations of communities to the challenges posed by anthropogenic chemical modification of habitat. Through the use of retrospective assessments, critical discussion, and examples of relevant contemporary research, participants in this effort have examined successes, failures, and promising opportunities.
