Working Environment in Life-Cycle Assessment

"Life-cycle thinking is new to the working environment, but more and more companies are recognising the potential impacts of their internal conditions, both within and outside their boundaries. During 6 meetings over a 3-year period, the authors reviewed existing methods, included 4 case studies, and produced suggestions for a common framework for integrating the working environment into LCA.

Pia Burnn Poulsen is Project Manager with FORCE Technology, Lyngby, Denmark, in the areas of life-cycle assessment, working environment, and product assessment and is co-ordinator of the efforts of the SETAC Working Group on LCA and the Working Environment.
