Emar: The History, Religion, and Culture of a Syrian Town in the Late Bronze Age

The tablets from Emar, a relatively recently discovered city in ancient Syria, reveal much about the religious and social life of second-millennium Syria, as well as further insights into the history of an age in which the Hittites, the Hurrians, and the Assyrians vied for control of the middle Euphrates.
