This work presents the main finds and draws general conclusions about the use of archives and libraries in the Ancient Near East from 1500 to 300 B.C., examining the finds in excavations in Israel, Persia, Babylonia, Syria, Assyria, Turkey, and Egypt; included are over 100 archaeological diagrams of many of the sites.
