Twenty Years of French Literary Criticism: A Memorial Volume for Philip A. Wadsworth (1913-1992)

This is a retrospective volume in honor of the eminent seventeeth-century scholar, Philip A. Wadsworth, which contains 29 essays that appeared in French Literature Series over the past two decades (1974-1994). Editor Freeman Henry has judiciously selected those articles that chronicle the evolution of French criticism from the rise of structuralism to post-modernism and beyond. This yearly conference at the University of South Carolina in Columbia has now become a major international forum for the latest trends in French literary critical thought.
