It describes clean energy sources including photovoltaic, solar thermal, geothermal, hydro, wind, wave, tides, biofuel and nuclear. It describes how they work at a semi technical level and contains many color illustrations of working systems. The final chapter cover what is identified by the Department of Energy as the Smart Grid, a systems that modernizes the energy generating and distributing system and improves efficiencies using technologies developed for the internet.
