Episcopal Baptisms and Confirmations of the Southern Oregon Coast, 1873-1940

This is the only compilation of Episcopal baptisms and confirmations on the south coast of Oregon, from pioneer days of early 1870's through 1940. Primary sources included parish records and personal journals, and published histories were consulted. Records were found for the missions of St Martin (Reedsport), St Mary (Gardiner), St Mary (North Bend), St Luke (Empire), St James (Coquille), St Mark (Myrtle Point), St John (Bandon), Christ Church/St Christopher (Port Orford), St Matthew (Gold Beach), and the mission/parish of Emmanuel (Coos Bay). Several of these primary records are of closed missions and are hidden in the records of today's larger parishes and not readily available to researchers. The primary records have never been microfilmed, photocopied nor published, and are invaluable for their historical and genealogical material as to names of parents, dates and places of birth, and family friends. Each abstract is cited as to sources. The book includes a map, list of officiating clergy, bibliography and every-name index.
