This source book compiles information for CICS/COBOL programmers. Section I offers practical guidelines for designing, coding, testing, and debugging CICS/COBOL programs, with two versions of a model maintenance program presented to illustrate traditional and modern design and coding methods. Section II is a CICS command reference, containing syntax and option descriptions for 121 CICS commands commonly used by application programmers. For each command there are descriptions of any exceptional conditions the command may raise, coding examples, and advice on using the command. Section III gives syntax and parameter descriptions for the standard BMS macros, along with examples and guidelines for creating user-friendly screens.
