Prestigious Cuban American surgeon Otto Leal lives in Sweden but must return to his childhood home of Miami to attend his brother’s funeral. From the moment he arrives, Leal is caught up in the complicated realities of current United States-Cuba relationships, the personal politics of the exile community, his aging mother’s startling revelations about the family, and a mysterious young Colombian woman. As he realizes things are not what they seem, he responds to the challenge with the help of newfound friends and his own optimism.
