Les Mots Anglais

LE MOTS ANGLAIS, says Sawyer-Laucanno in his introduction, "is based on Stephane Mallarme's 1877 English grammar book Les Mots anglais, and on the exercise books (Themes anglais) he prepared for his students, probably between 1872 and 1884, while he was a teacher of English at the lycee Fontanes (Condorcet)." A professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sawyer-Laucanno is widely known for his biography of Paul Bowles. He is currently at work on a biography of e.e. cummings. Saddlestapled.
