A Handbook of Paper Automata Mechanisms

This work shows in a step by step way how to obtain a large number of different kinds of movement using thickish paper as the modelling material. In a clear and well illustrated way it explains how to make use of the properties of levers, drive shafts, gears and cams to obtain smooth, jerky or repetitive motions of different kinds. Also included are five working models to cut out and glue together, which between them demonstrate many of the basic techniques in physical form.
