Death's Dark Shadow is a reprint of the much-loved sourcepack and adventure book set in and around the village of Kreutzhofen, which lies at the convergence of mountain passes leading to Brettonia and the Border Princes.

The book includes a gazetteer of Kreutzhofen, which includes maps and information on all the inhabitants. It also details the village's relations with its neighbours and the Empire, as well as local law and order, trade and commerce, and local customs and holidays.
