The Hall That Was

This book is one of a series which has been written to give children an interest in history in a funny and pleasant way. The children befriend some of the staff and Matthew makes an enemy of the head butler. Both children have lots of adventures in between getting into bother with the guide who is taking a group of people around the hall. Due to Miranda, herself, getting into bother, the children find themselves catapulted backwards and forwards from the Edwardian days to the 21st century. Before they finally find themselves back in the present time, they meet King Edward VIII who is on a visit for a banquet at the hall.
