Getting the Message Across

An essential requirement of effective clinical practice is the rapid dissemination of research findings and their incorporation into practice. The usual dissemination method for NHS-generated research is publication in a professional journal and presentation at conferences. Occasionally educational strategies might be applied. There is increasing evidence that these strategies are often ineffective and that much of this new inforation is not adopted into practice for many years, if at all.This book is aimed at all those in the long chain between the source of new information in the NHS (be it policy, research or managerial innovations) and its intended target audience.The book includes overviews of relevant research and theory to support the development of more effective dissemination strategies in the NHS.
