Stroud were Scotland's greatest manufacturers of optical instruments, who for over a century provided the armies and navies of the world with sighting, measuring and observation equipment. Based on previously unpublished documents from the company's archive, the main intention of this book is to identify the patterns of more than 60 models of binocular field glasses and place them in their historical setting.
