Description

Murderer Harry Soh must be stopped. Can The Fund do it? For generations the Soh family have done whatever they felt necessary to expand their manufacturing business in Hong Kong. Harry Soh is the latest in a long line of obsessed businessmen with no respect for the law. When the murder of a pair of fishermen in Jersey, and an inferno in his factory in China fails to stop Soh’s relentless efforts to expand, he finally comes to the attention of the British authorities. Unfortunately, the Soh family has become so entrenched in Hong Kong society that it is beyond a foreign government’s power to have Harry Soh arrested for his crimes. In a desperate effort to have him brought down, the problem passed to the inheritors of Jade Green’s fortune. In accepting this challenge The Fund must prove to the world that they are now the force for good that Jade Green envisioned. Will they be up to the challenge? Edwards has cleverly crafted an entertaining international fiction around the events of the last century. By darting back and forth through time, he is able to address current social issues while commenting on past events … an action-packed journey. —Dot Whittington, The Weekender, Brisbane Queensland I had the pleasure of reviewing Jeff Edward’s first novel, Watching. I described that novel as ‘unputdownable’. At the risk of repeating myself, Edwards’ third novel The Fund is equally as engrossing and mesmerising. His writing skill is enviable. This saga he has created is compelling. Edwards’ writing is described as ‘thriller’, and justly so, but it is also fast-paced; each character from even the smallest bit part is fully etched; the relationships and tensions are palpable. —Wendy O’Hanlon, Acres Australia As soon as you open this book and begin reading, be prepared for a great whodunit. This is a very well written book which is the third in the series of Jade Green and I hope there will be more as Jeff Edwards is a great author. I was captivated right from the beginning of this novel and as I was fed little extra tidbits to keep me guessing, I became even more engrossed. — John Morrow’s Pick of the Week
