The Sephardic Music Anthology

(Tara Books). Sephardic music is a product of the Jewish communities which flourished in Europe and the Mediterranean basin after the Expulsion from Spain in 1492. Many of the selections in this edition are set to the prayer book liturgy for Sabbath and holidays. The ballads and romances are sung in Ladino, which is primarily Spanish with a sprinkling of Hebrew.
