African American Women: Contributions to the Human Sciences

This book documents the significant contributions of African American Women who have contributed to the specializations within the profession and to administration of programs in higher education and extension, among others. Many of these women have been pacesetters in serving not only academic programs, especially in Historically Black Colleges and Universities but also African American families and communities. Such women as Flossie Marian Byrd, Ola G. Hudson, Clinita Arnsby Ford, Eula Davis Masingale, Norma Maiden, as well as other early and current leaders are featured. This book adds to the literature about women's roles in the human sciences and in educational programs in general. It is a "first" in the human sciences of celebrating the accomplishments of African American Women.
