Wally and Freddy Leave Home

Wally and Freddy find that although it may be crowded there is no place like home.____ The inspiration for this story came from the Juanita’s life on the farm as she watched many chipmunks playing in tree roots by a brook.____ This story was written in the 1970’s for Juanita's grandchildren who were always begging to hear a story. Their love for small woodland creatures prompted Juanita to tell the story of Wally and Freddy.____ Juanita Hourigan Hodgen is a housewife who lives on a farm in Kentucky with her husband of 62 years, Robert Hodgen. Juanita and Robert have two children Robert and Sandra, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.____ Juanita loves reading children’s literature. She enjoys writing children’s stories and poems in her spare time. She is a member of the Springfield Baptist Church in Springfield, Kentucky and has taught Sunday school for over forty years.
