A True Son of Asmodeus

Modern rationalist Dr. Eli Rothenberg thought he had left fantasy and his childhood psychic gifts in the past with his Jewish faith. When a crisis of conscience sends him to Europe on a research grant, Eli finds himself pursued by an ancient vampiric entity that destroys people he loves. He seeks out a Hasidic Jew he'd met while traveling. Although he resists belief at first, Eli gradually accepts his destiny and his religious heritage, and becomes part of a tightly-knit traditional Jewish community and a wider network of spiritual warriors of all faiths known as Perceptives. After months of training and doubt, Eli is drawn to the sites of the death camps in Dachau and Auschwitz where he must confront and defeat a power of pure evil.
