Description

By the end of his life, had Bobby Kennedy forged a soul so compassionate that it outweighed the sins committed by the ruthless young political operative to whom America was first introduced? Saint Peter can't decide, so he sends Bobby back to Earth ostensibly to make an honest living as a furniture mover in Seattle. But Peter sets Bobby up to spend most of his time in prison--in solitary confinement, no less--reviewing his life in a series of movies. These graphic stories range from the very raw to the very tender to the very humorous. Featuring an ensemble cast of characters ranging from a salacious chaw-chomping Granny, to a sadistic, corndog-scarfing prison guard, to Marilyn Monroe herself, HUMPING CREDENZAS takes readers on a wild and mesmerizing ride. But that isn't all. In life, death and now in fictional resurrection, Bobby Kennedy shows us that we journey to our darkest places in order to find our light.
In 1993, a small press in Seattle published a slim novella by Robert Ellis Gordon entitled WHEN BOBBY KENNEDY WAS A MOVING MAN. The novella caught the attention of reviewers at such major venues as The New York Times and consequently enjoyed a brief period of cult status.
Some fifteen years or so later, at the urging of colleagues, Robert revisited the original novella. With regard to length and emotional and spiritual depth, the result surprised many, the author most of all.
