In the modern craze for foreign countries in which heroines of fiction may find potentates to control and policies to direct, Baluchistan has up to this time escaped. But L. Frank Baum, writing as Schuyler Staunton, has discovered it and pressed it into service. The result is an interesting concoction of travel and intrigue. L. Frank Baum, creator of The Wizard of Oz children’s series, also wrote adult and teens’ novels. For these books, he used a variety of pen names, such as Floyd Akers, Edith Van Dyne, and Schuyler Staunton.
