Growing up in the Appalachian Mountains, parented by an alcoholic mother, she had witnessed dashed hopes firsthand. She had seen far too many dreams lay like smoldering embers, snuffed out by the brutal winds of adversity. Ry'ah was determined that her dreams would not die here in these mountains.
